Responsabilities

As part of the activities of the Department of Biology, the person hired must:

• Provide practical work, tutorials and field internships (1st cycle and 2nd cycle) which may include topics such as general biology, biodiversity, herpetology, aquatic ecology, restoration ecology, and conservation biology;

• Actively collaborate in the technical and scientific management of the research unit;

• Conduct research leading to a PhD in conservation biology focusing on the response of species and communities to habitat change and the preservation of biological diversity;

• Participate in events and the organization of the Reid Lab (https://nerdbrained.github.io/), the Research Unit (URBE), the Biology department, and the research institute (ILEE- https://ilee.unamur.be/).

Profile

Those who apply need to hold a master's degree in biological sciences, in bioengineering, or any other diploma deemed equivalent, on the starting date. The skills and qualities required are as follows:

• Experience in ecology and field biology. Interest in molecular ecology is a plus,

• Familiarity with R, Python, UNIX, and GitHub for managing and analyzing data,

• Show a marked interest in teaching,

• Show a particular interest in conservation biology and ecology,

• Ability and motivation to integrate into a teaching and research team,

• Have excellent communication skills in French and English,

• Autonomy and organization.
