Responsabilities

The person hired will be expected to, among other things:

  • Conduct research in digital law in the framework of research contracts for external sponsors (Public Services, DG, European Commission, etc.). The current projects for which the person hired is approached are related to data protection in the field of :

    • Data governance ;

    • e-health ;

  • Involvement in the activities of the center (take part in meetings of the centre, collective research projects, continuous education programs, etc.).

Profile

The person should :

  • have a master120 (or equivalent) in law (a distinction (or above) grade is an advantage) ;
  • demonstrate a strong interest in data protection ;
  • have a strong interest in scientific research ;
  • be able to establish, as part of his/her course of study, a deeper understanding of the subject matter ;
  • be able to work independently while being part of a research team ;
  • have a perfect command of French, a minimum B2 level in English and a good knowledge, at least passive, of Dutch ;
  • have good writing skills in French (very good) and in English (good) ;
  • demonstrate an ability to engage in interdisciplinary research ;
  • be able to work in an environment with defined time constraints.

Willingness (and ability) to develop an original research program that could lead to a PHD in law provided an appropriate thematic focus is demonstrated.

This full-time position could be divided into two half-time positions.
