The University of Namur welcomes nearly 7,000 students each year in its 60 bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. Of the University's 1,200 employees, more than 700 actively contribute to research through 64 laboratories and research centers. The Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences and Humanities has close to 1,400 students and 170 employees, including 85 academic and 70 scientific members. The Faculty offers full-time and part-time bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates in management and economics. It also runs programs in political science and communication studies. Its members undertake research in various areas of expertise.

The person hired will also join the Namur Digital Institute (NaDI). Within NaDI, researchers provide innovative solutions to new societal challenges posed by the digital revolution (eGov, eHealth, eServices, Big Data, etc.). Coming from different disciplines, the researchers combine their scientific skills in computer science, ethics, law, management and humanities. They cover topics such as: smart cities and e-government, software and systems, innovation and services, the collaborative economy, artificial intelligence, security and privacy, information technology law, and the societal impact of technologies.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the BeCoDigital project in collaboration with KU Leuven, UAntwerpen and the Sciensano administration. The person will conduct research on the digital transformation of administrations and will focus on the participation of citizens in the transformation of administrations through, among others, digital platforms for co-creation and co-innovation. More specifically, the person will contribute to the development of a national methodology for the co-creation of digital services and will provide support in the coordination of the BeCoDigital project. The person hired will be able to thrive:

  • in a dynamic research team composed of several academics and researchers;
  • in an interdisciplinary project team with expertise in information systems, management and political science;
  • in a project allowing time for the development of high-impact scientific publications;
  • in a project allowing for numerous contacts with the practical world.

Thanks to these field studies, the project should lead to both scientific publications and concrete and practical recommendations for public authorities and administrations in terms of setting up digital transformation and co-creation mechanisms with citizens.

Profile

Applicants will hold or will hold by the end of December 2022 a PhD in economics or management, management engineering, computer science or data science (or equivalent).
