Responsabilities

The candidate will pursue his/her research activities within the “Unité de Chimie Physique Théorique et Structurale (UCPTS)” at the Chemistry department of the University of Namur under the supervision of Prof. Yoann Olivier. The candidate will undertake his/her research within the field of organic electronics. Especially, the research will deal with the study of new light-emitting organic π-conjugated materials for organic light-emitting diodes devices (OLEDs) using molecular modeling approaches. The research project will be carried out in strong collaboration with experimental groups and especially with the group of Prof. Eli Zysman-Colman where the synthesis and the thin film characterization of these materials are performed.

Profile

The candidate is expected to:

• be highly motivated by conducting a collaborative research project.

• be familiar with computational methodologies such as molecular dynamics and quantum chemistry (wavefunction-based techniques and density functional theory).

• have practical experience with molecular dynamics AND/OR quantum chemistry softwares.

• have good communications skills in English (reading, writing and speaking).

• be autonomous.

• undertake research on his own.

• present clearly his research results.

• be familiar with Linux operating system.

• master office softwares (Microsoft suite or equivalent).

Besides, good communication skills in French (reading, writing and speaking) and experience with programming languages (C, Fortran, Python, Perl, bash,...) would be greatly appreciated.

Remarks

The candidate should own a master degree either in Chemistry or Physics; or engineer.

CANDIDATES THAT HAVE ALREADY A PHD ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.

Contract: limited to 9 months, starting from the contract signature.
